GECAM employees are familiar with and apply the policies and procedures of the company hence responsible for quality of services to local and international customers.
SAFETY POLICY SUMMARY
GECAM has as core values her Personnel, Company and Customer Assets/Information and our Environment that is why we give the highest priority on Health, Safety/Security and Environmental Protection in the execution of our duties.
Our personnel at all levels both onshore and offshore are fully committed to Safe/Secure work practices to preserve human life, avoid injuries and health hazards and to protect the environment. In GECAM, Safety and environmental protection is the concern of all and has no rank.
All employees are encouraged to become actively involved in identifying possible hazards, implementing corrective actions and constantly monitoring all facets of their work circumstances to ensure that a safe working environment exists.
The effective management of health and safety is about creating within GECAM a culture that is dedicated to eliminating accidents and near misses in the workplace and work-related ill health.
Whilst GECAM operates a devolved management culture we recognize that we all hold a responsibility for health and safety. All staff have a moral and duty to look after the health and safety of themselves their follow employees, and everyone with whom they come into contact whilst carrying out their duties. This also includes a “duty of care” to give advice and assistance, if necessary, to customers to enable them to meet the same health and safety criteria.
As concerning Safety and Security Engagement, GECAM’s Chief Executive Officer engages to:
- · Obligatorily respect the norms and safety rules in vigor on sites and all her entire working environment.
- · Not to comprise safety training of personnel and refresher courses.
- · Assure the health policy of personnel.
- · Assure environmental protection.
- · Comply with social objectives so as to minimize personnel and environmental risk as required by the social and security rules and regulation by the Cameroon Law.
